Bunkpurugu youth calls on gov’t to help restore peace in the area

A group calling itself Tanmung Youth Association in the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District of the Northern Region is calling on the government to intervene in conflicts in the area to ensure peace among the citizens.
According to them, conflicts in the area is affecting development and therefore government must investigate to ensure peace and order in the area.
The group indicated that such activities have also affected business activities and school children.
Addressing the press, spokesperson of the Tanmung Youth Association, Mathew Single called on government to investigate the conflicts and determine who the perpetrators are for the law to take its course.
He debunked claims that the people of Tanmung are violent but rather peacemakers.
Mathew Single also pleaded with such people disturbing the peace in the area to desist from it and report their grievances to the appropriate quarters.
Meanwhile, the Youth Coordinator for Tanmung Youth Association, Moyom Dimang also called on the Northern Regional Security Council and the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District Security Council (DISEC) respectively to step into the matter to ensure peace prevails in the area.
