Some underprivileged individuals, particularly widows at Gomoa in the Central region have received Christmas donations from the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia.
The items which include, cloths, bags of rice, cooking oil and cartons of canned fish and cash were distributed to the about 400 widows in Gomoa East and Central on Sunday December 24, 2017 at a short ceremony at Gomoa Ekwamkrom.
Addressing the gathering after the kind gesture, Samira Bawumia said the gifts were to support the Christian widows and their families to enable them celebrate the festive season with ease.
She noted that, the donation is to ameliorate the sufferings of the widows and their children in the area.
The Second Lady urged Ghanaians to have confidence in President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as they work assiduously to accelerate Ghana’s development.
Samira Bawumia was confident the NPP government is working hard to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
Members of Parliament for Gomoa Central Hon Naana Eyia Quansah and Gomoa East, Hon Kojo Asemayin whose constituents benefited from the donation thanked the Second Lady for identifying with the Christian community during the festive period.
They also called on their constituents to believe in the Akufo-Addo government to move Ghana forward.
