Music Video Director with KB Empire has fired a salvo at Tema-based music duo, Gallaxy for claiming Ghanaian video directors as mediocre.
According to Kwaku Olembe, the music duo has exposed their ignorance when it comes to music video directing in the country.
“Music video is all about budget when you have a good budget; you will have a good video” he fired.
A livid music producer who has worked with many popular artistes including Pope Skinny made the comment in an exclusive interview on Adom TV.
Gallaxy on Adom Entertainment on Adom FM hosted by Mike 2 described Ghanaian video directors as mediocre.
They explained that video producers in the country do not know anything about shooting music videos and therefore rated their Nigeria counterparts ahead of them.
The Harbour City Recordz, Afro-beat and highlife music group also revealed that they were forced to shoot the video for their new single, ‘Dab’ in Nigeria because they did not want to compromise on quality.
But Kwaku Olembe vehemently disagreed with the musicians noting that “they [Gallaxy] don’t know what they want.
He indicated that popular Nigerian music artistes including Iyanya come to Ghana for his music video thus the claim by Gallaxy cannot be true.
Kwaku Olembe is convinced the Tema-based musicians did not get a good director for their video due to their budget.
“We have prominent directors in Ghana doing marvelously well, so the question is, how much did Gallaxy pay the director and who directed their video?”
Citing himself as an example, Kwaku Olembe said before producing a music video; he will look at the standard and preferences of the artiste before charging the fee.
He is convinced Gallaxy did not get a good music video because they failed to pay a good price.
Kwaku Olembe urged musicians to pay the right price given them by video directors to get quality videos.
