Police identifies 4 other suspects in Bantama gang-rape video

The Kumasi Police has identified the four other persons who are alleged to be involved in the attempted gang-rape video which has gone viral.
Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Juliana Obeng confirmed on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ on Tuesday that the police are on the heels of the four suspects.
“We have been able to identify their houses…once we’ve arrested the three, we will arrest the four too…,” she said.
The four are part of a group of seven men who attempted to gang-rape a female.
Many Ghanaians are enraged over a recent viral video in which about seven young boys, were seen attempting to forcibly having sex with the teenager.
In the video which has been in circulation on social media, the young boys were seen taking turns to attempting to sexually assault the helpless teenager.
The incident occurred at Bantama in the Ashanti Regional capital.
Various civil society groups have already condemned the incident, and called on the police to take immediate action against the suspects.
ASP Juliana Obeng told the media that “all three suspects are currently in police custody assisting in police investigations, while efforts are being made to arrest the other 4.”
It remains unclear when the actual incident happened.
But the Police PRO said the police believe the suspects are still in Kumasi and would be hunted.
“I believe the guys on the run are still in Kumasi…,” she said.
