The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has been challenged to present the ‘original documents’ for his seized vehicles to claim them.
Kofi Adams said on Wednesday that some armed military men, DVLA officials and national security personnel stormed his residence at Golf City in Tema and drove away five vehicles.
The vehicles, he said are three (3) Land Cruisers and two (2) Pick Ups.
Of the five, three of them – a Pick Up and 2 Land Cruisers belonged to him while the other two Land Cruisers belonged to his brother.
And the seizure, Kofi said has affected the daily activities as the vehicles were meant to run various errands for him.
He has since accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Nana Akufo-Addo administration of engaging in acts of lawlessness.
But the Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the party, Kwame Baffoe, also known as ‘Abronye DC’ who claim to have led the team that stormed Kofi Adams’ house for the vehicles challenged Kofi Adams to produce the ‘original documents’ for the vehicles to the team.
According to him, the vehicles would be released to the former NDC executive if the original documents bear his name.
“Kofi Adams should present the original documents and come for his vehicles, if it is proven that they are his vehicles, we would release them for you…,” Abronye said daringly.
According to him, some of the vehicles given to Kofi Adams were imported by the Education Ministry for monitoring purposes and hence was surprised they ended in the possession of the NDC executive.
“Kofi Adams vehicle, the Toyota hard body were imported by the Ministry of Education…the vehicles were meant for monitoring purposes…,” he alleged.
Abronye DC also accused the former spokesperson for the Rawlings family of ‘cleverly cleaning’ the chassis numbers of some of the vehicles so he could claim ownership.
With the Toyota hard body, the Chassis number is written under the mirror but in the case of Kofi Adams, he has cleverly cleared the Chassis number from that side and has written fake Chassis number on the engine…,” he claimed.
The NPP Youth Leader continued that he is on an operation to seize all vehicles and state assets which he claimed are in possession of some officials of the former administration.
“I am now on operation and have been seizing cars for Ghana…I am a citizen vigilante now and have the right to arrest properties of the state in people’s possession…,” he said.
