Celebrity Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, has dared the President of the republic of Ghana on his stance on homosexual in the country and challenged him to make that his 2020 campaign message.
“If the president thinks he is brave enough and support homosexuality, he should go ahead and use it as his political campaign message come 2020 general elections. He should promise he is going to make it legal and see”. He dared
The controversial lawyer dared the president that, he will turn gay should Nana Addo obtain 10% of the total votes with such a campaign.
On Kumasi-based, Sika Fm, he dared the president: “Tell him, if he gets event 10% of the total votes in that election, I Maurice Ampaw will turn a gay. I dare him”.
Homosexuality is considered one of the highest sins in any African community. Some leaders in the African continent have criticized the devilish act saying it has no roots in their countries.
Former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills clearly set the record straight by saying Ghana was not going to accept that.
The President of the Republic of Ghana,Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo in an interview with Aljazeera made a ‘controversial’ statement regarding homosexuality in the country.
During the interview, the journalist said, “I want to ask you, what is happening in your country, and homosexuality which I believe is illegal and punishable in your country. Why is homosexuality still illegal in your country?
Nana Addo in responding said, “This is the socio-cultural issue if you like…I don’t believe that in Ghana, so far, a sufficiently strong coalition has emerged which is having that impact on public opinion that will say: ‘Change it [the law], let’s then have a new paradigm in Ghana.”
The journalist again asked if the President would get behind but he answered, “I think it is something which is bound to happen”.
However, this comment from the president did not go down well to most Ghanaians. Some say he is in support of the ‘devilish act’ of the society with various groups condemning his response.

The European Court, made up of 47 juries in the year 2016, passed a judgment on homosexuality stating clearly that, homosexuality is not a normal thing in the society therefore it is never discriminatory for a country to denounce its legality.
