President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured has government’s resolve to abide by the rule of law.

He indicated that although past events in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi presented some difficulties, he will not waiver to serve the country under the “condition of rule of law.”

President Akufo-Addo made the comment while interacting with the media after a retreat at the Perduase Lodge in Aburi Monday after a court remanded members of pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group Delta Force.

This was after Delta Force, raided a Kumasi circuit court and freed 13 of their members who were standing trial for violent behaviour and assault.

The 13 are part of some 21 men who were arrested by the police following the violent assault of the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, George Agyei, by the group.

The police after a manhunt arrested eight of the suspect who are currently on remand to reappear in court on April 18, 2017.

In spite of the suspects being members of the NPP, President Akufo-Addo maintained that the rule of law will be supreme.

“I’m reassuring the nation that the commitment that we made that we are going to serve Ghana under the conditions of the rule of law” he added.

President Akufo-Addo called for continuous support as his government is high-spirited to deliver on his promises.
