The President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation, Ben Nunoo Mensah says his focus is to support Ghanaian athletes to win more medals.
Ghana won six medals(1gold,4 silver and 1 bronze) at the 2017 Africa Weightlifting Junior and Youth Championship in Kampala, Uganda.
In an interview with Joy Sports, Mr. Nunoo Mensah said his focus is to drive the athletes to perform better than before.
“Last year we got two bronze medals from the Commonwealth games which was a good thing but in life we all want move forward and achieve more”, he added.
The Ghana Weightlifting team, Black Cranes, competed in the Commonwealth games qualifiers in Gold Coast, Australia, where the team successfully secured qualification for next year’s Commonwealth games in Gold Coast.
