Management member of Asante Kotoko has confirmed the King of the Asanti kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu’s unflinching support for the current management of the team.
According to Lawyer Yaw Boafo, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is pleased with the work of the current management and wants them to continue working to better the club.
Dr. Kwame Kyei was appointed the Executive Board Chairman of the club during the just ended season and has led the club to win three laurels and finishing fifth on the league log.
The Dr. Kyei led administration together with the technical and playing body met the life patron of the club to present the 2016/2017 MTN FA CUP to him and also give account at the end of the season.
”Otumfuo Osei Tutu II after receiving the trophy blessed Dr. Kyei and asked him to continue running the club. Otumfuo said he has not given Dr.Kyei any number of years to work but he should keep running the club”, Lawyer Boafo explained.
“The life Patron also admonished the players to also play their hearts out for the club and not wait for management promises before performing well”.
Asante Kotoko beat Hearts of Oak 3-1 to lift the 2016 MTN FA CUP and will represent Ghana in the Confederations Cup next season.
