Ghana News – We have enough quality to beat Egypt – Andre Ayew

-

Deputy Captain of the Black Stars, Andre Dede Ayew believes the team has enough quality to continue their winning streak in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The Black Stars will play the seven time African Champions in the final round of the Group stage of the ongoing tournament in Gabon.

Egypt defeated the Stars by two goals to nil in the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers in Alexandria. That defeat has put the Stars qualification to a four straight World Cup in doubt.

After winning all their two matches, the West Ham record signing hopes the Stars will maintain their impressive performance against the Pharaoh’s on Wednesday.

“We just want to qualify and play any team,” Dede expressed.

“I know whoever qualifies is a good team. We know we will play a difficult match against Egypt and from there, we will prepare for the quarter finals. We will take it match after match but for now we will relax and wait for Egypt on Wednesday.

“We are not under pressure to play Egypt but I know we have the quality to play against them. We have a great team and we have showed a lot of maturity in all our matches that we have played but we need to keep on playing.

“To be honest, the tournament starts from the quarter finals stage. We have to do better but we know what we are doing as a team. We have to improve but I must say that our goalkeeper has been in a great shape but what we need to do is to hold the ball in the second half especially.” Dede concluded.
