Former deputy Sports Minister,Joseph Yamin says the Mahama government cannot be blamed for Ghana’s inability to qualify for its fourth successive world cup in Russia.
According to him, they did everything in their power to ensure Ghana’s qualification but we were just not lucky.
Joseph Yamin who was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate sport show Wednesday warned the spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) not to blame the Mahama government for the failure.
“Saanie Daara should reconsider the reasons they are giving for Ghana’s failure to qualify and stop putting blames at the door steps of the NDC government. Nii Lantey and Hon. Isaac Asiamah both have different leadership styles”, he stated.
The former Minister who is disappointed Ghana didn’t qualify for the 2018 world cup is confident “the NDC government will qualify Ghana to KATA 2022 in the Arab Emirates”.
Joseph Yamin expressed shock the GFA seem to be supporting the current Sport Minister, Isaac Asiamah when they continually fought the predecessor, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye.
“It is interesting the GFA is not fighting Hon. Asiamah when he is pursuing the same Agenda Nii Lantey sought to pursue. A good example is slashing the black stars bonuses”.
The NDC government has lead Ghana to two out of her last three World cup appearances.
