The National Road Safety Ambassador, Gabby Adu Gyamfi has lamented over the rate at which patients are detained at the Brekum Holy Family Hospital for non-payment of medical bills.
The Road safety ambassador made this comment when he paid a surprise visit to the Hospital and settled bills of ten (10) patients who had been treated and discharged but have failed to settle their bills.
He paid a total of GHC 8,500.00 to cover the full medical bills of the patients.
The Road safety ambassador told Adomonline.com in an interview that he did this as a means of giving back to society.
He appealed to individuals, stakeholders, philanthropists, and the general public to also visit hospitals and help the needy.
Some of the patients and their relatives who could not hide their joy thanked Gaby Adu Gyamfi for coming to their aid in the last minute.
The Administrative manager of the hospital, Madam Agnes Kwaayie commended the Road Safety Ambassador for his kind gesture and therefore appealed for more support.
She expressed worry about the situation which has been rampant at the hospital. She therefore appealed to the general public to also visit hospitals and helps the needy as Adu Gyamfi has done.
