Head Coach of the Black Stars, Kwesi  Appiah  is pleased with the performance displayed by the new players he brought on board to join the squad.
The 56-year-old set his sights on building a team that will stand the test of time when he began work in his second spell as Black Stars head coach, after signing a two year contract to  replace Israeli Avram Grant who resigned after the AFCON.
Ghana’s World Cup dream was finally brought to an end after the team drew 1-1 with Egypt  last Sunday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Nonetheless, the coach is happy with the kind of performance the new players displayed.
“I was really impressed with their performance, for this game we had just about four of the senior players   but playing at home I believe they proved themselves to Ghanaians showing the public what they can also do when given the chance”, he told Asempasports.
“For those who were playing the first time in the national colors, it wasn’t easy but  they did well, they did their best which shows that  when given the opportunity they can also make Ghana proud”.
Some debutants who made it to the final  squad included  Kasim Nuhu, Ebenezer Ofori,  and Godfred Donsah.
Coach Kwesi Appiah and his charges will now focus in the remaining 2019 AFCON Qualifiers.
