We need a modern stadium in Volta region – Edem to Akufo-Addo

Ghanaian Rapper, Edem is appealing to President Nana Akufo-Addo to construct a modern stadium in the Volta Region.
The rapper, born Denning Edem Hotor said the region can boast of many talented footballer but none has a facility to exhibit their talents.
“There is a football park but I think it would be nice that all the other regions have a similar sports stadium. I mean a state of the art. Yes there is a stadium there, maybe a park with a couple of stone benches but we need a standardized stadium…” he said.
Edem, who is also the CEO of Volta Regime Music Group (VRMG) in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM said due to the lack of stadium, grooming future football stars has been very difficult.
He added that, the stadium will also host massive concerts since there is no ‘better’ venue for hosting musical concerts in the region.
Edem believes he is entitled to make such demands because he is a citizen and has contributed his quota to nation development.
“I don’t have to be a footballer or pilot to ask for an airport. I don’t have to be a farmer. Why do we do concerts at the stadium? Why don’t we do big events at the national theatre? Every Ghanaian can ask for a stadium or anything that will foster the development of this country. Even if it’s not done I have drawn an attention to it…” he maintained.
