Mahama making “incompetent decisions” even in opposition – John Kumah

-

Communications team member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is shocked Former President John Mahama even conceived the idea to keep his official residence.

According to John Kumah, the U-turn by the ex-president who banned his appointees from buying any house or car they use while in office is ‘sickening’.

Mr. Mahama had requested to keep state’s residence at Cantonment which houses Vice Presidents as his retiring accommodation package.

A letter signed by former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah said there was an agreement between the outgone National Democratic Congress (NDC) government and governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Mr Mahama to keep the house.

But the NPP transition team has denied such an agreement was reached. Senior Minister-designate, Yaw Osafo Marfo dared former government officials to make public those who took the decision.

The request letter drew huge public backlash from sections of Ghanaians. Comments on social media were opposed to the content of the said letter. Some Ghanaians charged the current government to reject the request in the interest of the country.

In support, John Kumah on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Ghanaians would have been extremely angry if the Akufo-Addo government.

“President Akufo-Addo told us to be active citizens and we kicked against Mahama keeping the house so why is the NDC [National Democratic Congress] blaming Nana Akufo-Addo in his issue” he quizzed.

John Kumah could not fathom why Mr. Mahama “even in opposition is still making incompetent decisions” by wanting to keep his official residence.
