‘Dancehall King’ Shatta Wale has pleaded with the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to honour colleague Dancehall artistes, Stonebwoy and Samini with national honours.
Shatta Wale made this appeal when he paid a visit to the President at the Flagstaff House in Accra.
Though discussions at the meeting have not been made public, Shatta Wale speaking on Adom FM’s Drive Time Show, ‘Ofiekwanso’ said he pleaded with the President to give national honours to his ‘rivals’.
“I made him aware of the Music Industry and making us ambassadors to push the country to the highest level. I mentioned he should honour Stonebwoy, Samini and I…,” he said.
Shatta Wale stated that he made the appeal because he is someone who stands for unity and seeks to untie all the artistes in the Dancehall genre.
“I stand for unity. Its business and when people respect it, the industry will move forward and the country will be respected…,” Shatta Wale stated.
He further expressed confidence in the Nana Addo administration.
According to Shatta Wale, he believes the incumbent NPP party will implement ‘better’ solutions to help industry players across board.
