Audio: Juaboso residents to fight galamsey men, sexual assault

-

Residents of Sefwi Juaboso in the Western region have vowed to deal ruthlessly with Chinese miners for taking over large hectares of forest reserves in the area.

The residents say the illegal miners have resorted to attacking them and sexually assaulting their women whenever they confront them.

Assembly Member for Antobia, Paul Gyabeng tells Adom News the galamseyers have been attacking them and assaulting their women sexually.

They say, their properties have been damaged through the assault and have left many jobless because they are scared of getting attacked when they go out to sell.

They are therefore pleading with authorities to take immediate action on the situation or they will take the law into their own hands.

Meanwhile district police commander ASP Thomas Freeman Asante said though they have not yet received any report on the claims, they will investigate the matter as soon as they receive a report.
