Ayisi Boateng's comment apt – Amoako Baah

-

A former head of the Political Science Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Richard Amoako Baah has described as apt comments by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa.
In his view, those criticizing the diplomat for speaking the truth are hypocrites and liars.
Mr. Ayisi-Boateng has come under vitriolic attacks for saying that the welfare of members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is his priority.
“My topmost priority is the problems of an NPP person before any other Ghanaian, take it or leave it” he told some TESCON members at a ceremony to usher in fresh students of Kumasi Technical University into the network over the weekend.
Though many including the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are demanding an unqualified apology, High Commissioner, Ayisi Boateng insist he did nothing wrong.
In support, Dr. Amoako Baah on Accra-based Neat FM said the criticisms are borne out of ignorance and double standards.
“What is wrong with an NPP leader inspiring students. Ayisi Boateng did not talk as High Commissioner of South Africa, he spoke as an NPP member so those making noise should shut up” he fumed.
The political scientist maintained that, it is only fair for a party leader to inspire students who help the NPP win power in the 2016 general elections.
Though he does not support some portions of Ayisi Boateng’s statement, Dr. Amoako Baah said “those criticizing him are just being mischievous”.
