Come for tutorial on how to survive in opposition – Sir John to NDC

-

Former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is offering free counselling service to members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on how to survive in opposition.

According to Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, he has gained a lot of experience being in opposition for the past eight years to help them survive the turbulence times.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Sir John as he is popularly called said it is normal for members of the NDC to struggle after exiting power in such a ‘painful manner’.

“It is very difficult leaving in opposition after leaving on freebies but I’m ready to offer them counselling on how some of us survived eight years in opposition” he scoffed.

The former NPP scribe maintained that the NDC’s gargantuan defeat in last year’s election is self-inflicted thus party members must not unleash their anger on the Akufo-Addo led administration.

He charged the aggrieved opposition party members to blame their national regional and constituency executives for the painful loss.

“The NDC does not need any committee to investigate what cause their loss. The arrogance of public officials and total disrespect for the citizenry including religious bodies and opinion leader led to their defeat” Sir John stated.

He wondered why the NDC were so confident of victory when in fact “even President John Mahama knew Nana Akufo-Addo will win the elections.

Sir John also called on NDC members to advocate for an early congress and vote out all the executives at the helm of affairs in the party.
