The Ghana Swim Team are ready to take off to Nigeria , Lagos to be precise to take part in the Africa Zone 2 ( West African Countries) Championship.
The Championship will be held from the 27th October to 29th October 2017 at the Teslim Balogun Sports Stadium at Surelere, Lagos.
There are eight swimmers, a coach, a physiotherapist, NSA representative, National Treasurer and a media man making the trip to Nigeria for this championship and their names are Rebecca Asare, Maayaa Ayawere, Jacqueline Kukua Yawson, Ekow Gwira, Nii Armah,Kow Jackson, Papa Yaw Poku-Dwumoh, Ryan Degraft-Ackun ably supported by Mr.Abbiw Jackson, Akosua Boatemaa Baidoo, Farida Ayishatu Iddriss who is the team leader to Nigeria and not forgetting Seth Nti and Cecil Nii Teiko Tagoe. These are the contingent for the West African Junior Championship.
They have trained well and are ready to drop off their times in preparation for the Commonwealth games to be held in Australia.
This trip was sanctioned by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ghana Swimming Association are grateful for this kind gesture from the Ministry.
The contingent will leave tomorrow afternoon for Lagos. We are hoping for some medals in this championship and watchout for more exclusives from Nigeria.
