Father of defiled victim asked to pay GHC200 for medical report

The parents of a 4-year-old girl defiled by a community member at Assin Adadientem in the Central Region have been asked to pay GHC200 for medical report.

According to Kwabena Nyarko, father of the victim, the police have declined to arrest the culprit because he has not been able to pay for the medical report.

The 4-year-old was defiled by one Kwabena had inserted his manhood in her in a toilet facility.

Kwabena reportedly sent the eight-year-old elder sister of the defiled girl to buy him a coconut and further warned the little girl inside the toilet not to respond when her sister comes back calling her.

The suspect told her he would kill her with a stick if she responded. After the act, he carried her on his shoulder and dropped her at the back of her home because she could not walk.

The defiled girl bled for three days after the incident and could not pass urine until recently.

The mother, Monica Nyarko who had then return from a funeral had a shock of her life when he daughter told her of the ordeal.

After reporting the matter to the chief in the area, they rushed her to St Francis-Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.

But the distraught father on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Wednesday said days after the incident justice has not been served.

He indicated that, his daughter could barely walk due to pain and cannot even afford the GHC200 for the medical report.

Mr. Nyarko however revealed that, a chief in the area claimed the community gods say the suspect is innocent and has vowed to invoke dreaded deities on them should they report the matter to the police.

He is therefore appealing for support to enable him pay for the medical report to seek justice for his daughter.

Meanwhile, Head of Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), Chief Superintendent, Lawrencia Macaulay said they will take prompt action.

She called on the police to as a matter of urgency arrest the culprit for justice to be served.
