The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Accra Hearts of Oak, Opare Addo has called on supporters of the club to blame the club’s defeat to Berekum Chelsea on referee of the day, Nuhu Liman.
The Phobians lost by a goal to nil in their away game against Berekum Chelsea at the Berekum Gold City Park.
The defeat was a big blow to the Rainbow club which hoped to build on their controversial win against arch rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Super clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“I don’t think we should have lost that match and everybody who watched the match can attest to that fact.
“We prepared every well to make sure that we will win and there are some things that happened during the match that I don’t want to talk about it because it is gone.
“The referee was part of our defeat and I am not going to hide that. I don’t want to say anything that will suggest that we are putting all our blame on the referee and I will not rate him 70 percent even though we didn’t live up to expectation but we were expecting at least a draw game,” he said on Asempa FM.
Hearts of Oak currently occupies the 9th position with 12 points after nine matches played in the Ghana Premier League and will welcome Bechem United to the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday on Match Day 10.
