Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Saani Daara has lauded management of Accra Hearts of Oak for acting swiftly on match fixing allegation against it staff.
According to him,the action taken by the club will boost the confidence fans have for the management.
Accra Hearts of Oak in the last week has been hit with betting and corruption allegations singling the club’s Protocol officer, Joshua Acquah as conniving with referees to manipulate results of premier league matches.
The club reported the matter to the police who later picked up the Protocol officer for questioning.
Commenting on the issue on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports show Wednesday, Sanni Daara called on clubs to emulate Hearts of Oak’s example.
“Hearts of Oak did the best thing by involving the police and I urge them to furnish the police with all the information they will need so we all get to the root of this bribery allegation” he noted.
Meanwhile, Joshua Acquah is said to have tendered in his resignation to the club’s secretariat after he was released by the police on bail.
