Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor believes Egypt stand favorite to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup ahead of Ghana.
The Pharaohs are in pole position to make an appearance at the Mundial for the first time in so many years as they top Group E of the qualifiers with an impressive 6 points from two matches.
Egypt are five points above Ghana who have secured just 1 point from their two matches played in the qualifiers.
Adebayor has tipped the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finalist to make it to Russia 2018 at the expense of the West African giants (Ghana).
“Egypt is leading its group, they are closer this time than Ghana to qualify to the World Cup,” he told ON Sport TV channel.
“The Pharaohs’ squad includes a number of exceptional players like Mohamed Salah and Mahmoud Trezeguet along with other special players.
“When it comes to football we have mention Egypt and Cameroon,” he added.
Egypt have been able to recover from their dwindling fortunes in football after the political turmoil in the country.
The Black Stars will need to win their remaining four matches and hope for a favorable outcome in the other matches in order to make it to the World Cup next year.
