Teachers at the Berekum College of Education are threatening not to vote in the December general elections if the government fails to release their feeding grants which has been in arrears for two semesters.
President of the Student Representative Council of the college, Rudolf Enam Kporgbe told Adom News their threat is not politically motivated but rather a move to get the monies paid.
“We are waiting on the government to give us the feeding fee he promised us. The money for the two semesters we have paid for. We are currently in our third year. We are not backed by any party. We are solely non-partisan” he stressed.
Rudolf Kporgbe said the vice President, Kwesi Amissah Arthur once said at Fosu College of Education that they have allocated GH¢50 million but up to date they have not received it.
As an immediate measure, the SRC President said they will hold a massive demonstration on Wednesday to press home their demands should their call be ignored.
