Hearts can win 2017 league – Samudeen Ibrahim

-

Hearts of Oak midfielder, Samudeen Ibrahim has said that the Phobians aim to end their seven years without a trophy this season.

According to the midfielder, the Accra-based club have psyched themselves up to win the trophy this season and the win over arch-rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has also boosted their moral.

“It would be a unique achievement, something historic and we would love to do it, but in the League you never know what is going to happen. Of course we have got a chance but so too have Aduana Stars, Asante Kotoko and also other teams,” he told Asempa FM.

The Phobians next League game will be against Berekum Chelsea on Match Day 9.

Despite admitting that Hearts of Oak stands a greater chance of winning the league, Samudeen admits that it would be foolhardy to overlook the Blues.

“We can’t be complacent against Chelsea because we have beaten Asante Kotoko. We have to make sure we don’t relax for even a minute against them because they are one of the best teams of the Premier League,” he said.

The Phobians will be chasing their first away win of the season.
