Hot VIDEO: Mzbel salutes Nana Addo over free SHS

-

Singer Belinda Akua Amoah, known as Mzbel, has commended President Akufo-Addo for fulfilling his promise of providing free Senior High School (SHS) education for students.

The supporter of the erstwhile government under John Mahama, who campaigned earnestly for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the last election, is known to be an avid critic of the policies of the current government.

Notable among the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s policies she criticised during the campaign leading to the 2016 elections, was the promise by then candidate Akufo-Addo to make Senior High School education free.

However, the ‘Lege Lege’ singer in a video circulated on social media, confessed to the effectiveness of the initiative as no payments were required from her when she took her son to Achimota Senior High School, Monday.

According to the singer, items such as school uniforms, admission fees and others had all been truly catered for by the as promised by the government.

She noted that although she had heard about the policy, she didn’t believe it was feasible. The singer disclosed that she had gone to the bank to withdraw money to pay for the fees only to be told there was no need.

“Charley, it’s true,” the ‘16 Years’ singer confessed.

She was full of praise for the President Nana Akufo-Addo saying, “Thank you to Nana Addo, well done to Nana Addo for promising and fulfilling.”

Nevertheless, the singer was quick to protect her political stance by stating that she amongst others “are watching”.

According to her, the ‘thousand’ other promises made by the President during his campaign would be monitored and their execution criticised accordingly.
