Former Ghanaian coach, Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie has been confirmed dead after an ambulance transferring him to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) was involved in a fatal accident.
The former Black Satellite trainer was reported to have suffered a mild stroke and has been on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
According to reports, the accident occurred on the Bunso stretch of the Accra-Kumasi highway.
His body has been transferred to the Suhum Government Hospital.
He will be remembered for qualifying four different Ghanaian national teams to the World Cup- the Black Starlets in 1991 and 1997.
In 1999, he qualified the women’s national team, the Black Queens to the World and in 2001 guided Ghana U-20 men’s to the final in Argentina.
