The 7-year-old boy who lost both legs in an accident at Offinso-Sanproso in the Ashanti region is to undergo a third surgery.
Peter Mensah aside his legs sustained deep cuts at his back when the KIA truck knocked him down which demands surgery to cover them.
Lead surgeon at the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital, Dr. Vincent Ativor in an interview on Adom News said the young boy needs skin grafting to recover.
He explained that, due to the nature of the wound at his back, it cannot heal on its own unless it is covered with portion of his skin to heal faster.
Dr. Vincent Ativor said though Peter is stable, he is still at the Intensive Care Unit to ensure the wounds are not infected.
As an immediate measure, he said they have given the young boy antibiotics to ease the pain.
Dr. Vincent Ativor is confident of a successful surgery and called for more support for Peter Mensah’s recovery.
