The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has said that former President, John Mahama is still fit to contest in the 2020 presidential race.
According to him, members of the party are ready to give John Mahama a resounding endorsement to lead the party again in the next elections.
President Mahama lost the 2016 presidential to NPPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo.
Mahama polled 4,713,277 votes representing 44.40% of the total votes cast as against Akufo-Addo’s 5,716,026 votes representing 53.85%.
This massive defeat handed the former President has led many to call on the former President to consider retiring from politics.
Several notable NDC personalities are rumoured to be interested in becoming the flagbearer of the NDC for the 2020 elections.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Friday, Mr Adams indicated that he expects the former president to stage a comeback in 2020 because he is the obvious choice to lead the NDC.
“President John Mahama is still attractive and I can assure you that he will come back in 2020. He will contest the elections,” he said.
However, the 2016 campaign coordinator of the NDC maintained that President Mahama has worked more than any other Government and therefore needed to come back to continue his good works for the people of Ghana.
