NDC now a laughing stock – Obiri Boahen

-

Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is now a laughing stock.
According to him, a political party which is just six months old in opposition has proven beyond reasonable doubt that it has nothing to contribute to Ghana’s body politic.
Obiri Boahen’s comment is in reaction to the NDC’s claim that the security of the state is under threat.
National Chairman of the party, Kofi Portuphy at a press conference said “the state of insecurity has given rise to fear-filled anxiety amongst innocent Ghanaians who are struggling to make ends meet under the current excruciating and suffocating economy,”.
He added that “the fact that lawlessness has been allowed to fester and run riot, with an unprecedented upsurge in violent crimes to the disbelief of Ghanaians.”
But Nana Obiri Boahen on Accra based Okay FM Friday, said the actions of the NDC proves they are fatigued just six months on opposition.
He indicated that, Ghanaians no longer take the NDC serious because all hey do now is “comic relief”.
The NPP deputy scribe noted that, attempts by the opposition party to frustrate the Akufo-Addo led administration will fall flat in their face.
“I want Kofi Portuphy, Asiedu Nketia, Koku Anyidoho and their gang, to know that majority of Ghanaians have reposed their confidence in Akufo-Addo therefore we will not allow them to accuse our President. They are now a comic relief to Ghanaians” he said on .

Nana Obiri Boahen therefore called on the leadership of the NDC to show respect to the president of the republic and desist from denting his image.
