Founder and leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry International, Rev. Dr Isaac Owusu Bempah has been urged to desist from making political comments in the media and focus on his church.
According to the former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, the man of God has all the rights to personally advice or protect President Nana Akufo-Addo but should not dabble in partisan politics
He added that, Prophet Owusu Bempah easily gets angered when provoked hence should focus on his primary objective of maintaining the church, fasting, and praying to move the nation forward.
“I will beg Owusu Bempah. God has given him a gift to see spiritual things. He should use that to work in the church and stop making political statements on the radio. If he sees anything he should tell Akufo-Addo in his house …”
“He is a pastor but gets angry easily when provoked. I will beg him and the other pastors to shun politics and do the work of God. They should fast and pray. The bible teaches us to respect our elders and pray for them to move the nation forward. They should not come on the radio speaking politics…” he said on Accra based Okay FM Friday.
In a rebuttal, Dr. Owusu Bempah speaking on Okay FM Thursday explained that, every pastor is a politician.
He explained that, the act of winning souls for Christ makes every pastor a politician because their biggest opposition is the devil.
The controversial prophet stated that whiles they are trying to win souls into hell fire, they as representatives of God are also making sure they win souls to heaven.
“Every pastor is a politician. God wants us to do campaign for him. Whiles Lucifer is also trying to capture people. As a pastor you are trying be God’s advocate. You can’t say you aren’t a politician. Jesus Christ was just like a politician, reason officials didn’t agree with his life…” he maintained.
