Hot audio: Widow of slain police man cry for help

Wife of late Constable Daniel Owusu, the police officer shot by armed robbers during a car theft at La Paz in Accra is appealing for support.
Afia Boatemaa who was weeping uncontrollably at a ceremony to mark the one-week passing of the policeman in Accra said she has lost the breadwinner of the family.
35-year-old Constable Daniel Owusu died after he was shot at close range by robbers at a popular joint called Las Palmas at Abeka Lapaz, a suburb of Accra.

The deceased together with his colleague were shot after they tried to arrest two men riding an unregistered motorbike at Abeka Lapaz last week.
After mounting a chase, the men on the motorbike suddenly pulled a gun and opened fire at the policemen.

One was shot in the shoulder but managed to escape from the angry robbers, while Owusu suffered multiple shots and was pronounced dead at the Police hospital.
The police has since arrested six Nigerians and nine Ghanaians from their hideouts at Ablekuma, Olebu and Kasoa in connection with the attack following a tip-off and have vowed to bring the suspects to book.
But this promise by the police according to the wife of the deceased will not bring her husband back to life.

Rather, Afia Boatemaa in an exclusive interview on Adom News want the police administration to take care of the six children of the late policeman.
She said it will be difficult supporting her six children without government intervention.
The distraught widow indicated that, Constable Daniel Owusu devoted his life to his country thus is every inch a hero.
Afia Boatemaa appealed to the state for compensation to cater for her children since her husband died in the line of duty.
