The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) mistress, has stormed the Ministries Police Station in Accra to officially launch a complaint of her missing bag.
Dr Elsie Effah Kaufmann’s handbag was declared missing after students from the Prempeh College, winners of the 2017 edition, stormed the stage with their heads to receive the coveted trophy.
The black silk handbag with a red zip, Dr Kaufmann exclusively told Adomonline.com’s Kwaku Nti and Dennis Adu, contained her valuables including her phone, ID Cards from the University of Ghana where she is a senior lecturer, her car keys and home keys as well.
Dr Kaufmann said she realized her handbag had been stolen after she had helped staff and students of Prempeh College to lift the trophy, which a hundred and fifty (150) school contested.
The lack of CCTV cameras at the National Theatre made it impossible to discover the persons who stole the handbag which contained several of her belongings.
The headmaster of Prempeh College, Samuel Fordjour claimed a hidden camera captured the suspect.
“When we met yesterday, I was told the bag has been found and that they had traced the person who stole the bag and had gone for the bag, a camera at the location helped to trace the person…,” he told Adom FM’s ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Friday.
But a disturbed Dr Effah Kaufmann in the company of his mother stormed the premises of the Ministries Police Station in Osu to launch an official complain on Friday morning.
Multimedia Journalist, Maxwell Agbagba reported from the police station that the senior lecturer at the University of Ghana had earlier been to the East Legon Police Station to file a complaint but was referred to the Ministries Police station since National Theatre falls within their jurisdiction.
The theft, Maxwell continued has distorted the workings of the Quiz Mistress who spent about a month preparing for the quiz.
