Boakye Agyarko cautions NPP over ‘Thank You’ Tour

-

A former presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko, has expressed concerns over the ongoing nationwide Thank You Tour.

The former Energy Minister said the exercise, which was expected to unite the party and renew hope, is taking a different turn—risking an implosion.

In a statement, he called on the party’s leadership to urgently redirect the initiative to its original purpose.

“What was intended to restore our party’s shine and reconnect us with the grassroots is instead unraveling into bouts of discord, blame-shifting, and internal strife. This regrettable turn of events threatens to inflict serious collateral damage on the very fabric of our party,” he bemoaned.

Agyarko stressed that the increasing internal divisions threaten to undermine the trust and goodwill the NPP has diligently built among the Ghanaian people.

He called for an approach that prioritises genuine reconciliation, solidarity, and purposeful engagement—essential to preserving the NPP’s dignity and unity.

“It is time to apply the brakes and reassess the direction of the Thank You Tour. We must pull back from what increasingly looks like an imminent collision course.”

“Let us seize this moment to renew our collective resolve and ensure that the mission of the Thank You Tour is accomplished in a manner worthy of our party’s proud legacy,” he added.
