Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has praised Dr. Patrice Motsepe, the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), for his positive outlook on sports in Ghana.
The CAF leadership was in Accra over the weekend to attend the 2025 Africa School Championship, held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Speaking to Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, after meeting with Dr. Motsepe, Kofi Adams expressed that the South African business tycoon holds Ghana in high regard when it comes to sports.
The Buem Constituency Member of Parliament revealed that the CAF president has encouraged Ghana to prioritize investment in grassroots sports.
“I believe apart from South Africa, where he comes from, the next country he loves is Ghana. He has good thoughts about Ghana in terms of football and beyond the game,” Adams stated.
“Despite showing a strong interest in football, he also has an interest in other sports, which is a good thing. He encouraged us to continue investing in other grassroots sports,” he added.
Dr. Motsepe also took time to visit former President John Mahama upon his arrival in Ghana over the weekend.
