The title race is not done yet – Interim Kotoko coach Karim Zito

-

Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Karim Zito, has pledged that the team will continue their fight to secure the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title, despite their current position.

With 47 points from 28 matches, the Porcupine Warriors sit 4th in the league standings.

This underwhelming performance led to the sacking of Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Zito is now tasked with leading the team to victory in the league.

“Six matches, 18 points can change a lot,” Zito said during his unveiling.

“So it’s not over until it’s over. I know we will play against those at the top, so we will fight until the end.”

Zito’s first assignment will be a home clash against Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Stadium, scheduled for this Sunday.

A seasoned coach, Zito recently led Dreams FC to an impressive semi-final finish in the CAF Confederation Cup and guided Ghana’s U-20 team to the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations title.

He will be looking to make an immediate impact with Kotoko as they aim to close the gap at the top of the table.
