Kwahu Obomeng made history this Easter with the launch of its first-ever Clan Festival, aimed at promoting unity among families and celebrating the town’s rich cultural heritage.
The event, held for the first time this year, brought together chiefs, sub-chiefs, and townsfolk — each proudly representing their clans through symbolic totems, traditional attire, and storytelling.
Speaking to Adom News, the Chief of Kwahu Obomeng, Odeefour Effah Opinamang III, explained that the festival was designed to strengthen family ties and preserve the unique identities of the town’s clans.
Dressed in traditional Aduana regalia — symbolized by the dog — the chief shared the story of his lineage and encouraged other clans to pass down their own histories during future celebrations.
Sub-chiefs also represented their respective clans, explaining the meanings behind their symbols, and creating an atmosphere of pride, learning, and unity.
The maiden Clan Festival is expected to become a permanent feature on the Kwahu Easter celebration calendar.
