Police deploy nationwide security for 2025 Easter festivities

The Ghana Police Service has announced the implementation of enhanced security measures nationwide to ensure the safety of citizens during the 2025 Easter celebrations.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Service assured the public that police personnel have been strategically deployed across highways, roads, and communities as part of a comprehensive operation to maintain peace and order throughout the festive season.

“The Ghana Police Service wishes to inform the general public that comprehensive security measures have been put in place nationwide to ensure a safe and peaceful 2025 Easter celebration,” the statement read.

Particular attention has been given to the Eastern Region, especially the Kwahu area, which is expected to draw thousands of visitors for the annual Paragliding Festival and other Easter activities.

“Special security arrangements have also been made within the Kwahu areas to cover the Paragliding Festival and other scheduled activities,” the statement noted.

The Police also appealed to the public to remain alert and cooperate with security personnel to ensure an incident-free celebration.

“We urge everyone to be security conscious, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to the police,” the statement advised.

The Police Administration wrapped up the announcement with a goodwill message, wishing all Ghanaians a happy Easter.

The heightened security operation comes as part of efforts to enhance public safety during major holidays, especially in high-traffic recreational zones.
