Adom TV/FM presenter, Abena Opokua Ahwenee, is leading a fundraising campaign to provide medical equipment to the Akwasiho Health Centre in the Kwahu East Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The donation exercise is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 10 a.m.

This charitable initiative is organized through her Opokua Ahwenee Foundation, a prominent organization dedicated to enhancing healthcare delivery and promoting the overall well-being of society.

The Akwasiho Health Centre, which serves more than 11 towns and villages, is in dire need of essential medical equipment, which has made healthcare delivery and access incredibly challenging for residents.

During her visit, Abena Opokua noticed an unfinished facility, whose construction had stalled due to a lack of funds, despite its potential to significantly improve healthcare services.

Motivated by this situation, she decided to mobilize critical medical supplies for the facility. These supplies include stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, pulse oximeters, ECG machines, hospital beds, wheelchairs, medical stools, patient chairs, first aid kits, and defibrillators.

Additional items needed include stretchers, hand sanitizers, disinfectant sprays, latex and nitrile gloves, masks, and eye protection (goggles, face shields).

Although the foundation has already secured some supplies through the generosity of donors, it continues to welcome contributions, either in cash or in the form of the listed items.

Generous individuals and organizations are encouraged to make donations or direct any inquiries to the contact number 0242602021.
