Despite a series of raids in the Tano Anwia Forest Reserve in the Ashanti Region, illegal miners continue to invade the area, raising fresh concerns about the future of the forest.





In a fresh raid on Tuesday, the concessionaire recorded further success with additional arrests and the seizure of four more excavators, underscoring the persistent challenge of safeguarding the reserve.

According to JoyNews’ Environmental Journalist, Erastus Asare Donkor, the legal concessionaire, Clean Jobs, which is responsible for protecting the land, has in recent times sponsored military-led operations that led to the seizure of 19 excavators.
