Annor Walker urges referees to change attitude

Technical Director of Vision FC, Annor Walker, has urged Ghanaian referees to improve their performance to help raise the standard of football in the country.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite, the former Great Olympics head coach expressed frustration over the persistent impact of poor officiating on match outcomes.

Walker lamented the inconsistency and questionable decisions by some match officials, which he believes continue to undermine the integrity and credibility of the local league.

“Our referees — some of the things they do don’t help the game. If they can change their conduct small, it will help,” he said.

“Sometimes, as a coach, you prepare your team and you know very well that this opponent can’t beat you, but the referees make decisions that turn the result against you. There’s nothing you can do,” he added.

The Ghana Premier League has long faced criticism over the quality of officiating, an issue many believe continues to erode public confidence in the competition.
