NPP guru hints at formation of new party [Listen]

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, has hinted at the possible formation of a new political party ahead of the 2028 general election.

Though the founders of the proposed party are yet to be officially disclosed, Dr. Baah revealed the name as the New Patriotic Front (NPF).

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based TV3, the political scientist explained that the NPF would emerge as an alternative born out of the NPP and called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to rally behind it.

According to him, the party’s internal problems cannot be resolved under its current leadership, which he believes is unwilling to allow genuine reform.

“The problem is we want to fix the party, but those involved in the wrongdoing are the ones in charge. Do you think they will willingly give you a chance to throw them out? No, they won’t. Leave the party for them and form a new one. The shortest way around this thing is to form a new party,” he said.

Dr. Baah further urged NPP supporters who are committed to integrity and reform to align with the emerging party.

“If you try to move them, they will frustrate you and you will be forced to leave. So if I have a choice, all the NPP supporters with goodwill should join the new party coming up and that will be the real party. Let’s leave the other one for the incompetent and corrupt leaders,” he stated.
