West Ham United forward, Mohammed Kudus, has expressed immense pride in representing Ghana on the international stage, describing it as a great honour to wear the Black Stars jersey.
Since making his debut in 2019, Kudus has become a key figure for Ghana’s national team, scoring 12 goals in 42 appearances for the four-time African champions.
In an interview with NBC Sports, the 23-year-old midfielder reflected on the deep sense of meaning he attaches to playing for his country, calling it both a privilege and a responsibility.
“It’s a huge privilege to represent our country of [nearly] 40 million people as one of the players for the Black Stars. It means so much to me,” Kudus said.
He also recalled how Ghanaian football legends shaped his dreams as a child and continue to inspire him today.
“Growing up, I watched most of the legends playing for the team, and they served as motivation for me. Now, I’m in that position, so I see it as a responsibility to do things right, set an example, and be a good role model for the kids looking up to me.
“I want to show them that it’s possible to achieve even greater things and do better than what I’m doing right now,” he added.
