The Government has successfully settled the 31 days’ arrears owed to caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) for the first term of the 2024/2025 academic year.
The payment was processed through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), which oversees the GSFP. In a statement signed by Hajia Fati Forgor, the National Coordinator of the GSFP, the Secretariat commended the Government for the timely release of funds to cover the outstanding arrears.
The GSFP Secretariat highlighted that this payment underscores the Government’s commitment to supporting the programme and ensuring its continued success.
It also mentioned that ongoing efforts are underway to restructure the School Feeding Programme to better align with the government’s plan for decentralisation, enhance food quality, and ensure timely payments to caterers.
The Secretariat further expressed its gratitude to donor partners for their continued support and collaboration, which it said are vital to the programme’s sustainability.
