Ntim Fordjour has concrete evidence, but… Nana B on NIB’s actions [Listen]

National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has expressed strong support for Assin South MP, John Ntim Fordjour, following accusations of drug trafficking and money laundering involving two aircraft that reportedly made a stop at Kotoka International Airport.

In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, Nana B stated that Rev. Ntim Fordjour possesses evidence in the case, but criticized the actions of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), who stormed the lawmaker’s home without showing an arrest warrant.

“Rev. Ntim Fordjour has concrete evidence to back his position, but the conduct of the NIB officials is wrong. They should have followed due process,” Nana B stated.

The standoff occurred on April 9, when NIB officials attempted to arrest the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, Rev. Ntim Fordjour, without following the proper legal channels.

The incident has sparked widespread concern regarding the NIB’s approach.

Nana B questioned why the NIB did not go through the Speaker of Parliament before attempting to arrest the lawmaker at his residence.

“Why didn’t they go through the Speaker of Parliament, as required by the constitution? Even the President has advised that institutions must work to investigate such matters properly,” he said.

He also expressed his disappointment with Government Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who dismissed concerns over the incident, calling it a “bad precedent.” Nana B stated, “It’s not a joke. If I had sensitive information like this, I wouldn’t feel confident either. Why would they storm his house in such a Rambo-style operation?”

The NPP official called for a commission of inquiry into the matter, highlighting the importance of following the correct legal procedures.

“We are law-abiding citizens and expect institutions to respect the process. They must go through the proper channels,” he stated firmly.

He praised Rev. Ntim Fordjour for his resilience in the face of these challenges.

“Ntim is my hero right now. He is strong, resilient, and refuses to be intimidated. He will stand firm,” Nana B said.

He also warned that such actions could backfire, especially if the NDC continues down this path. “If they don’t take care, the NDC will bring shame to President Mahama,” Nana B added.
