Medeama SC head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, has expressed his disappointment over his team’s 1-0 loss to Hearts of Oak, calling it a painful defeat.
The Yellow and Mauve side suffered the setback on Sunday in a Matchday 26 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Raphael Amponsah’s impressive long-range strike securing victory for Hearts of Oak.
This win marked an end to the Phobians’ four-match winless streak.
For Medeama, the defeat was their second consecutive loss to Hearts this season.
“I think it’s a very painful defeat, looking at how the game went,” Tanko said.
“We conceded a goal that we normally don’t concede. After the goal, we came back very strongly, and we had all the chances.”
Tanko went on to add, “I think that was the only chance they had in the first half; it wasn’t even a real chance.”
“A long shot, and they score, but in terms of performance, I think we did very well, and definitely, we are not happy with the result,” he added.
The loss leaves Medeama in 6th place on the league table with 38 points. The team will look to bounce back when they host Dreams FC at the TNA Park in the Matchday 27 encounter this weekend.
