Benjamin Kofi Quashie, the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) South Africa branch, has revealed that processes to arrest the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev Ntim Fordjour, are nearly complete, and he will soon be taken into custody.
Quashie made the disclosure on JoyPrime’s News Flash on Monday, April 7, following allegations made by the MP about some aircraft allegedly landing in the country to engage in cocaine trafficking and money laundering activities.
“I can confidently say that the processes (to arrest him) are almost complete,” Quashie stated.
He noted that Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, who plays a significant role in the process, is currently “out of the country,” but expressed optimism that upon his return, the arrest will be effected.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, had alleged that certain aircraft that landed in the country over the past few days were involved in illicit drug trafficking and money laundering activities.

His claims, made during a press conference, sparked widespread attention, particularly in political circles, with many questioning the validity of the MP’s assertions.
The government has since denied the allegations, explaining the circumstances surrounding the landing and departure of the aircraft.
As a result, there is mounting pressure on Rev. Fordjour to provide concrete evidence to support his claims.
The situation continues to unfold, with further developments expected in the coming days, especially after the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to which the MP belongs, backed the allegations and called for a thorough government investigation.
