Matchday 31 of the Premier League is headlined by the Manchester derby, as well as Everton and Fulham looking to claim upset home wins against Arsenal and Liverpool respectively.

Manchester United and Manchester City will meet for their derby at Old Trafford on the late afternoon of Sunday 6 April – a clash which has unusually low stakes for these two heavyweight clubs.
The Red Devils have endured a miserable campaign and are merely looking to salvage some pride and possibly a top-half finish in what remains of the season, while the Citizens will not be claiming a fifth straight title and instead find themselves battling just to secure qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
United’s best result under manager Ruben Amorim was their come-from-behind 2-1 win over City at the Etihad Stadium back in December 2024 – a performance which showed the potential offered by the tenure of the Portuguese tactician.
“It was incredible. I think we deserved it. It was a very tough match but we believed until the end. We managed to score, we needed that win, it was important for us and for our fans,” said Amorim of the win over City, as they seek to complete a ‘double’ over the team from the blue half of Manchester.
The round of matches opens early on the afternoon of Saturday 5 April, as Everton welcome Arsenal to Goodison Park. The Toffees have been transformed from relegation battlers to comfortable mid-tablers under manager David Moyes, who is looking forward to the challenge of taking on the Gunners.
“The [Arsenal] manager [Mikel Arteta] has done a brilliant job with the team. They’ve got some really top quality players,” said Moyes. “They are a top team, they really are. We’ll have to work hard and play well again.”
Saturday also features the curious but intense rivalry between Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion, a key relegation clash pitting Ipswich Town against Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as Aston Villa hosting Nottingham Forest – an important fixture in terms of European qualification.
Sunday, before the Manchester derby, also features a London derby between Brentford and Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur will host the doomed Southampton, and Fulham will target a home win over title-bound Liverpool – with the Cottagers hoping for a similar performance to the one they gave in holding the Reds 2-2 at Anfield when the teams met in December 2024.
The round wraps up on Monday 7 April with an evening clash between Leicester City and Newcastle United at the King Power Stadium.
