Ghana climb to 76th in latest FIFA rankings

-

Ghana has climbed in the latest FIFA rankings, marking their first upward movement since July 2024, when they rose from 64th to 60th place.

The Black Stars now sit 76th in the global rankings, improving from their previous position of 77th, which they had held since November 2024.

This progress follows a strong start to the 2025 calendar, with Ghana securing back-to-back wins during the last international break.

The Black Stars triumphed over Chad and Madagascar in the Matchday 5 and 6 games of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, moving ahead of Israel, who dropped two spots.

Despite this global improvement, Ghana’s position in the African rankings remains unchanged, as they continue to hold the 14th spot on the continent.

Head coach Otto Addo will be aiming for further improvements when the team returns to action later this year.

Ghana is set to participate in a four-nation tournament in June before facing Chad and Mali in Matchday 7 and 8 of the World Cup Qualifiers in September.
